Presenters: Sharon Salzberg and Stephen Cope

For all levels.

Join renowned teachers Sharon Salzberg and Stephen Cope for a five-day retreat immersing yourself in lovingkindness meditation practice and yoga. The perfect way to start your new year, this retreat is January 12 – 17, 2020 at the beautiful Kripalu Retreat Center in Lenox, MA.

The Buddhist and yoga traditions both hold that it is possible to deepen feelings of lovingkindness, or what yoga philosophy refers to as “friendliness toward all beings” (including ourselves). These two great traditions each offer practices designed to promote experiences of inner balance, happiness, and peace, as well as compassion, gratitude,  and  joy at the happiness of others.

Experience on-the-mat yoga practice and sitting meditation that foster lovingkindness, along with an understanding of the importance of metta and yoga in the overall vision of the contemplative traditions. Sharon and Stephen cultivate a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, welcoming people at all levels of yoga and meditation experience, including beginners.

Note: This program occurs during Contemplative Week—a week of programming to soothe the mind and body, and renew your connection to yourself. The week includes silent meals and quieter spaces. Explore Contemplative Week at Kripalu.
